Private House: Trinity
Hard to believe but when we first started this project there was a very dated 1970's house on the site. It did not make the best of the aspect so we started again. Extensive remodelling of the site gave us the terraces we required to ensure that all elements of the new residence made the very best of their aspect and the changing sunlight around the site through the course of the days and the seasons. Every detail of this property is bespoke - from the stone coursing to the internal joinery. Radiused glazing and joinery on the south elevation perfect an English Country House. Extensive landscaping and complimentary ancillary buildings complete the park like feel and the extensive grounds and private woodland make for a perfect oasis. We worked with Vale Garden Houses and many other craftsmen to complete this award winning building.

Private House: Trinity
The brief was to replace the two existing cottages on the site with a new family house for the clients and their young daughter and replace the adjoining cottage as a rental property. It was important the client that they achieved a traditional style property, accurately proportioned for the local vernacular. The result is a traditional family home with high standards of insulation and fittings, the result gives modern living in light and bright rooms. Attention to detail was so important and working with a renowned local contractor and craftsmen we achieved the essence of home for the client. They just adore living here.

Private House: St Brelade
The clients approached me through their favoured builders, who had built their previous property. Having decided to downsize, they had recently purchased the property, but felt it was dark, poorly ventilated and short on space. We re-organised the internal layout, relocating the stair to open up the hall way and give internal access to the garage. An additional bedroom with a bathroom and study space was added to the attic, with dormer windows giving natural light. More natural light was introduced to the dining area by using sun pipes. Finally a new front door and a new externally insulated render system has not only transformed the appearance and functionality of the house, but has substantially reduced the running costs of the property. I should point out that i can take no credit for the fabulous interior design - it was all the client!

Garden Room: St Brelade
The clients were aware that I had extended the house for the previous owner from a three bed to a 5 bed house along with giving them larger and more functional living space. These alterations had fundamentally changed the aspect of the house and left the old block built garage isolated on the west of the site - completely in the wrong and most sunny part of the site. The new owners love to cook and wanted a larger kitchen and entertaining space. It made sense to replace the single block garage with a new room- making the most of the garden and south west aspect. The new hand built kitchen is flooded with top light from two huge roof lights. The entertaining space flows out onto the garden and the clients say that they keep thinking that they have left the lights on as the rest of the house is so airy on the borrowed light. Their next task is the landscaping!
